A. Yes. smartSTIK is a plug and play device. Simply, plug smartSTIK into the USB port on your computer and the start menu will automatically pop up on the screen. Click “START” to begin using the smartSTIK.
Why doesn’t smartSTIK work on certain computers?
A. If you connected your smartSTIK to your computer and it failed to run, go to My Computer and verify that the bioSYSTEM drive is loaded. If you do not see the bioSYSTEM drive, you might be connecting your smartSTIK to a networked computer where a conflict exists because the network mapped-drive has less than three open-drive locations between the resident hardware drive and the network-mapped drive. When the smartSTIK is connected, it immediately attempts to map its three drives starting at the first open location. smartSTIK will not run on the computer if it cannot load all of the necessary drives.
You can use the Drive Uncollider tool to resolve drive conflicts between your smartSTIK and a network mapped drive but be aware that it will remap conflicting drive locations. The remapping of network drives may cause certain applications that depend on a STATIC fixed drive location to fail to operate properly. Please click here to download the Drive Uncollider Tool. If the Drive Uncollider fails to run on our PC, your network may be restricted. Please contact your network administrator for further assistance.
Can I share my personalized smartSTIK device with someone I trust?
A. Yes, of course you can. To temporarily register your guest:
Unlock the smartSTIK using your fingerprint or password.
Select an empty finger position (we recommend you select one of the thumbs on the finger grid), and then scan your guest’s finger. Remember to delete the guest when the sharing period is over.
What if I don’t want to give someone access to all the files located on my secure drive but would like to transfer a non confidential file to their PC using smartSTIK?
A. That is easy. Simply, save the file you should like to transfer on the PUBLIC space provided on your smartSTIK. The PUBLIC drive can be accessed without the need to log on to smartSTIK and can be seen by any user.
Does smartSTIK work with Windows Vista?
A. Yes of course. smartSTIK will work seamlessly with Windows 2000, XP and Vista
Will smartSTIK work on my MAC?
A. Presently, smartSTIK does not operate on the MAC, although there are plans to offer a MAC compatible smartSTIK in the near future.
